Into The Open Air

Today is 10/11/12, one of the three sequential & rare dates of this century. A lot of people view it as a lucky date and some decided to book their wedding or other special occasion today. For me, I felt lucky since it was my day off and I decided to sleep in and just enjoy the day at home with hubby.

It was still raining when I decided to get up around nine and I spent half of the day just lazing around watching movies, web surfing and blog hopping. The rain stopped by two in the afternoon and I was thinking of photographing dewdrops outside. Hubby thought the skies would be gorgeous after the rain, so we decided to go out into the open air and enjoy the scenery.

Of course, we went to one of our favorite hiking areas in McKinney State Park. We headed to the lower falls and explored the Homestead Trail. One has to cross Onion Creek to reach the trail.

There’s a large continuous slab of limestone that leads to the lower falls. The vast limestone has holes of all shapes and sizes that collects water when it rains. It has fascinating patterns on it.

There was a lot of amazing things we saw but that’s another story for tomorrow. What about you, did you go into the open air today?
