Underwater Sights

These are underwater sights in my hometown, Dumaguete City, Philippines. I’m planning to visit this year and counting the days when I’ll enjoy walking in gorgeous sandy beaches and swimming in its clear waters again.

In the Philippines, we call it “butete”.

“Tetraodontidae is a family of primarily marine and estuarine fish that includes many familiar species, which are variously called pufferfish, puffers, balloonfish, blowfish, bubblefish, globefish, swellfish, toadfish, toadies, honey toads, sugar toads, and sea squab.”

“Linckia laevigata (sometimes called the “blue Linckia” or blue star) is a species of sea star in the shallow waters of tropical Indo-Pacific. The variation (“color morph”) most commonly found is pure, dark, or light blue, although observers find the aqua, purple, or orange variation throughout the ocean.”

Small fishes.

Orange starfish.

Sea urchin and small clams.
